That was the cartoon one? I sorta remember that at the time...


and when Star Wars came out - one of the few movies I've ever seen opening day (b/c my friends knew what was going on, not me) - I was thinking I'd love to see a movie on Dune, but this is close enough.

There was a display at one of the now defunct department stores Woodward and Lothrop I think that had the outfits to the 1984 movie of Dune. That's as close as I ever got to that, it came and went quickly.

While I'm on the subject, the best things in Dune are all these personal moments that probably don't translate well into an action movie. Paul looking at his chosen consort, thinking she's pretty, wondering what it would be like to go away with he someplace quiet but knowing that will never happen or the Femen soldier on another planet seeing unfathomable amounts of water for the first time. Good stuff but probably don't have time for that in a couple hours of a movie.
